Things to Avoid in Gambling & Bankroll Management

It won't take long before you see players in the casino complaining bitterly about losing money quickly, and expressing their frustrations. If you think that this won't happen to you, well it won't, if you keep the following in mind.

Casino tip 1: don't play if you don't feel all right

"All right" is a broad term, and in this case, all of its meanings must be applied. If you are in any way afflicted -emotionally, physically, mentally- don't gamble with your money.

It doesn't even have to be "serious"; if you are hungry, tired or just feel like going to another table, do it. There's no need to keep playing there; you're free to do whatever you want.

Casino tip 2: steer clear of alcohol

Drinks are almost always on the house for two possible reasons: one, the casino is nice, or they want you to get drunk so you'll lose money and keep playing more games to try and win them back. Whatever your viewpoint, don't indulge in any alcoholic beverages when gambling.

Casino tip 3: play at your "comfort" limit

By comfort we mean not the one you enjoy playing at, but rather the level that you can afford. To be successful in gambling the first thing you should think about is not how much you can win when you ascend a limit, but how much you can potentially lose.

Casino tip 4: don't play scared

If you cannot afford to buy in at the max level, then move down a limit or two. You can't save on costs by buying for less: if you play a game like Texas Holdem, opting out of pots to try and stay longer will do you no good because the blinds or ante will kill your game. Besides, where's the fun in sitting out every hand?

Casino tip 5: don't go crazy over the comps

The word "free' can make people act in an irrational manner in a casino. Free drinks, meals and discounts on room rates are always nice, but don't discard your whole bankroll system just to get that freebie. If you add it all up, the comps offered in gambling venues are almost always less than the amount you had lost trying to get them.

Casino tip 6: learn from your errors

No matter how meticulous your gambling bankroll strategy is, you will likely commit a misstep along the way. That's okay; everyone commits an error every now and then. Just learn from it.

The above-mentioned gambling tips might seem like overkill to some, but it isn't. In fact, by following them, the fun factor actually increases, as you are able to focus more on the game than fretting over your money and getting upset.
